‘You matched a search!’ or ‘A College Coach found you’
Awesome- based on the information within your profile matching a coach’s athlete search, you’ve been found! Coach searches can be very broad or specific, but it’s always good to know when a coach is looking for an athlete like yourself! Note: The more CaptainU points you have, the higher you will show up in search results, so be sure to add as much info (including photos and video if you have it) to your profile as possible to give coaches a great snapshot of who you are.
example: Grad year: 2019, GPA: 3.0 or above, Region: West Coast, Height: 5 foot 10 inches or higher
‘A coach viewed your profile’
Kudos! A coach wanted to learn more about you and has viewed your profile!
‘A coach opened your message’
Great job at being proactive and connecting with coaches! Looks like one of the coaches you’ve connected with opened your message! As a heads up, this does not mean the coach has responded yet, but we always want to be transparent in where those messages end up!
‘A coach just added you’
Woo Hoo! A coach found your profile and wants to keep an eye on you by adding you to their recruiting roster!
After you create your free CaptainU recruiting profile you are automatically given a free 2 week trial our premium silver plan. The difference between the free and silver plan is that the silver allows you to see who has viewed your profile, message coaches directly and you get recruiting guidance and expert support from one of our recruiting experts.
We have a total of 3 premium plans for you to choose from: Silver, Gold and Platinum. Each have the ability to help you get more proactive and increase your recruiting chances. They added benefits include seeing activity that coaches are taking with your account to finding the right school and connecting with that coach directly. Not to mention we’re able to coach you through the recruiting process in a more dedicated fashion.

Welcome to the CaptainU team! When you create a free recruiting profile with CaptainU, you get a 2 week free trial of our premium silver plan automatically. You have 14 days to build and maintain a profile, add 10 colleges to your prospects list, and send 10 messages to college coaches! The Trial does not include access to the Profile Activity such as “You appeared in a search” or “A coach added you.”
After 14 days, your account will revert to the free Bronze membership where you can continue to maintain a CaptainU profile. To access the Colleges, Mail, and Activity sections, you would have to upgrade to premium membership (Silver, Gold, Platinum). Please visit our plans page for a detailed description of each account we have to offer.

No longer need your CaptainU profile? We can certainly help with that. First, be sure your account has been downgraded to the free Bronze membership through your plans page.
Once the account is no longer on a paid subscription, CLICK HERE to fill out a support contact form. Be sure to include the email address associated with the account as well as the athlete’s name.
As a heads up, this action cannot be undone so keep this in mind when requesting!

If you have a team account, you do not have to set up a new login to manage your child’s athlete account. Once your athlete has created their account, they can go to the “People” section and add your log in email for CaptainU. This will grant you Parent access.
The next time you log into your team account, click the “You” tab on the toolbar at the top of your screen. Select “Log into athlete account” from the dropdown. If you have multiple athlete accounts, you will be able to select which one you want to access.

If you feel that you are receiving too many emails or would like to receive more emails for certain subjects, you will find a manage my email preferences or unsubscribe link at the bottom of each email you receive from CaptainU. Click that link to manually edit your email preferences.
