A display of sporstmanship that might bring tears to your eyes

Trinity Classical Academy and Desert Chapel High School in Palm Springs, CA met for their section championship game this past weekend. In the fourth quarter, Trinity had the win in the bag, up 23 points, and subbed in teammate Beau Howell who suffers from autism.

On Trinity’s last possession, they tried everything to get the ball to Beau for a score, but he missed both attempts. Desert Chapel, winning the possession, called a timeout, and when they returned on the court, they gave the ball back to Howell. After guiding him to the hoop and several shots, Howell made his first ever basket and threw his arms in the air in celebration.

What a great display of sportsmanship and compassion from Desert Chapel, down 20+ points in their championship game.
