Texas Football & CaptainU Athlete of the Week: Austin Barnes

He’s a wide receiver! No, he’s a defensive back! Actually, he’s both, and he’s also this week’s Athlete of the Week presented by Texas Football and CaptainU!

Senior WR/DB Austin Barnes was chosen this week based on his all-star performance on the field with his high school John Paul II in Plano, Texas, and his involvement with CaptainU. In his team’s game just last week, he had 13 rushes for 36 yards, 2 touch downs, and 9 receptions for 57 yards.

Having played football for 10 years, he hopes to continue playing and take his game to the next level in college. As an active CaptainU athlete, Austin has created and maintained an effective CaptainU profile in which he can converse with college coaches of his choice, keep his recruitment processes organized, and take advantage of all the tools and resources CaptainU offers to help him play at the next level.

Austin will graduate with his class of 2014 and we will keep close tabs on this star player in his future.

Congratulations Austin!
